Tennessee Volunteers guard Samara Spencer has made a name for herself in college, but how did she perform in high school? As a point guard for Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she excelled despite being unstarred.
In her sophomore year at Saint Thomas Aquinas, Spencer averaged 14. 1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game in 27 games, per MaxPreps. In her senior year, she averaged 16.3 ppg and 5.8 rpg in 18 games. Her high school average is 15.0 ppg, 6.1 rpg, and 2.1 apg.
She led her high school to a state title and was named the Broward County 7A-6A Player of the Year for 2021.
She was also named in the First-Team Broward County and the Broward County Fab 5 in her junior year in 2020. She led the Saint Thomas Aquinas Raiders to the state title game in her sophomore season.
After high school, she signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks. In her junior year, she averaged 13.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 3.5 apg and 1.3 spg and was the team's second-leading scorer. She shot 33.6% from the field and 74.0% from the free-throw line.

Before her senior year, Samara Spencer transferred to Tennessee. On Saturday, she helped the Lady Vols set an NCAA single-game record with 30 made three-pointers. The Lady Volunteers defeated the North Carolina Central Eagles 138-59.
Spencer also broke a single-player record for the program, making nine three-pointers on 13 attempts. She also recorded a career-high 33 points and had 10 assists. This was also her first double-double since transferring to Tennessee.
Vols guard/forward Tess Darby and sophomore guard Talaysia Cooper each added five three-pointers. Cooper had 21 points, while Darby had a season-high 17 points.
