Kelvin Sampson's Houston Cougars landed their highest-rated recruit yet, five-star power forward Chris Cenac, who is ranked No. 7 overall by the On3 Industry Ranking. This pick-up has boosted the Cougars to No. 2 in the recruitment rankings by 247Sports this week. Last month, it was not even in the Top 25.

Chris Cenac chose Houston over LSU, Arkansas, Kentucky, and other powerhouse schools. The biggest school he snubbed was LSU, which was going all-out for him, and was more than ready to build a team around him. As for the fans, they were celebrating and giving Coach Sampson a lot of praise.

"Sampson is on a historic run right now." replied one fan.
"We are killing it! Two 5's, a 4, and a very high level 3." said another fan.
"sampson been straight cooking, another fan pointed out.

Meanwhile, many are just amazed at how far the program has gotten.

"easily the best program in the country for the last 5+ years," claimed one fan.
"yo we’re building the avengers omg 😂," another commenter replied.
"🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥omg Houston is going crazy," said another.

Other recruits joining Chris Cenac at Houston so far

Houston has been on a tear with its recruitment for the Class of 2025. Chris Cenac will now be the headliner, with him teaming up with fellow five-star and No. 10 ranked overall, Isiah Hartwell, a shooting guard.

Cenac is the fourth-ranked power forward and Missouri's top talent. Meanwhile, Hartwell is Utah's third-ranked shooting guard and second-ranked recruit, with only AJ Dybantsa ahead of him in the state.

Houston secured the commitment of No. 20 ranked Kingston Flemings, a 6-3 point guard from WilliaM J. Brennan High School in San Antonio, Texas. He selected Houston over Texas, Texas Tech and Texas A&M, and he is the second-ranked player in his home state and the third-ranked point guard.

They also have a three-star recruit in Bryce Jackson. He is a shooting guard, ranked No. 211 overall and the No. 16 in the state of Texas. He is expected to be a backup for Hartwell in the position.
