Michigan is riding high after a thrilling 27-24 victory over USC in Week 4. The win pushed Sherrone Moore's Wolverines to a 3-1 record, with their sights now set on another victory in their upcoming matchup against Minnesota on Saturday. Aside from preparing for the next game, Michigan is also continuing to build for the future through active recruitment.

One prospect who has captured the Wolverines’ attention is Luke Brewer, a standout tight end from Norwalk Senior High School in Iowa. He received an offer from tight ends coach Steve Casula shortly after the school's thrilling win over the Trojans.

Brewer shared the news on X and wrote,

"After a great game day at The Big House and after talking to coach @Coach_Casula i’m blessed to receive an offer from @UMichFootball GO BLUE 💙💛
@NHSFB_."

Brewer is only a sophomore but has already made a name for himself. He gained early attention when he played for the USA National Team as a middle schooler. Since then, programs like Iowa, Notre Dame, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State and Nebraska have also offered him scholarships.

Despite his young age, Luke Brewer has already earned a four-star rating from both On3 and Rivals. On3 ranks him as the No. 73 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 6 tight end in the 2027 class and the No. 3 recruit in Iowa. Rivals has him even higher, as the No. 58 overall prospect in the nation.

Iowa leads the race for Luke Brewer's commitment

Iowa has been actively recruiting Luke Brewer since last year and officially extended an offer on June 13.

"Well, I think Iowa has the reputation of being Tight End U, so it kinda stands for itself," Brewer told HN. "They know what they are doing with their tight end.".

During his freshman season, he recorded 26 receptions for 313 yards and a touchdown.

In an interview with HN in June, Brewer shared insights about his conversations with the Iowa coaching staff.

"They said they really like my size and strength but also how I can move in and out of my breaks. They also said my willingness to compete was top-tier."

Brewer's connection with Iowa deepened when he attended a game at Kinnick Stadium last fall and returned for spring practice. Iowa has no committed players in the 2027 recruiting class yet, which makes Brewer a key target.

According to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Hawkeyes have a 75.0% chance of securing Luke Brewer's commitment.
