Michigan fans were closely looking at four-star prospect tight end Andrew Olesh's commitment while enjoying the flipping of four-star cornerback Ivan Taylor from Notre Dame to the Wolverines. In less than an hour, they got the highly anticipated news that Olesh had also announced his commitment to head coach Sherrone Moore's program on Monday.

Olesh received an offer from the Wolverines in March. He narrowed his list down to a top-eight of Michigan, Penn State, Alabama, Florida State, Missouri, Florida, Mississippi and Pittsburgh back in April before giving his commitment on Monday.

“They said I could be the next Colston Loveland,” Olesh told On3. “Obviously, he’s a big-time dude and will probably be a first round draft pick. They compared me to him and told me I could fit into their offense well."

Andrew Olesh was considered a Penn State lean for much of the recruiting cycle and withstood a strong push from Alabama. He even visited Florida and Penn State in the weeks leading up to his Ann Arbor visit, which let him know in depth about the program.

“My favorite part of the trip was interacting with the tight ends and getting to know more about the program," Olesh said. "I enjoyed speaking with Colston Loveland, Marlin Klein, and Max Bredeson.”

Olesh now becomes the Wolverines’ second tight end commitment of the 2025 class, joining Eli Owens. He is also the fourth-highest-rated commitment, per 247Sport.

What does Andrew Olesh bring to Michigan?

According to Rivals, Andrew Olesh has the versatility to play both outside and in the slot, complemented by a unique combination of size, hands and route-running skills.

According to 247Sports, Olesh is the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania, the No. 4 tight end in the nation and the No. 84 overall prospect in the 2025 class. On3 also ranks him highly, placing him as the No. 3 player in the state, the No. 3 tight end and the No. 67 overall prospect. During his junior season, Olesh recorded 53 catches for 972 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Michigan now has 15 commits in its 2025 recruiting class, including Taylor, defensive back Kainoa Winston, defensive lineman Nate Marshall, quarterback Carter Smith, edge rusher Julius Holly, running back Donovan Johnson, wide receiver Jacob Washington, edge rusher Jaylen Williams, offensive lineman Avery Gach, defensive lineman Bobby Kanka, running back Jasper Parker, offensive lineman Kaden Strayhorn, linebacker Chase Taylor and Owens.

The addition of Andrew Olesh has elevated Michigan’s class ranking to No. 11 nationally, up from No. 15, and No. 3 in the Big Ten, according to the On3 Industry national team recruiting rankings.
