Michigan landed linebacker Cole Sullivan in the 2024 cycle, and now the school's coaching staff is targeting one of Sullivan’s former teammates, Bradley Gompers, for 2025. The standout linebacker from Central Catholic High School in Pennsylvania is committed to Duke, but Michigan linebacker coach Brian Jean-Mary extended an offer to him on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound prospect shared the news on X:

"After a conversation with @luc_brian I’m excited to receive an offer from @UMichFootball!!"

In June, Gompers committed to Duke over a top seven of Pitt, West Virginia, Maryland, Northwestern, Michigan State and Rutgers. However, being pursued by the defending national champions may be very tempting.

Michigan's 2025 class ranks No. 14 in the nation with 16 committed players. This cycle features multiple blue-chip prospects like quarterback Carter Smith, wide receiver Andrew Marsh and tight end Andrew Olesh, among others.

The Wolverines have only one linebacker in the cycle: three-star prospect Chase Taylor from Stockbridge High School in Georgia. The school is also in the running for three-star linebacker Christian Pierce, who has a 22% chance of committing to the Wolverines according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Duke is facing the heat to retain Bradley Gompers' commitment

Bradley Gompers is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 104 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 3 athlete in the 2025 class. According to this ranking, he is the highest-rated recruit to ever commit to Duke.

Gompers' stock has skyrocketed following an explosive start to his senior season. In seven games this season, he has recorded 412 receiving yards and five touchdowns as a tight end, while contributing on defense with 45 tackles (30 solo and 15 assisted), six tackles for losses and two sacks.

The player's versatility prompted Duke coach Manny Diaz to explore multiple positions for Gompers. Initially recruited as a tight end, Diaz is now also considering him for a linebacker role.

Diaz is also trying hard to keep Gompers locked in. He attended the Central Catholic vs. Norwin game last weekend, where Gompers' team triumphed with a 59-14 victory.

However, Bradley Gompers' stellar performance has attracted multiple offers in the past two months from programs like Ole Miss, Virginia, NC State, Vanderbilt and Penn State. Even Terry Smith, the top recruiter from Penn State, has identified him as a priority target.

Diaz will definitely face a challenging time to keep him committed to Duke's 2025 class, which ranks No. 38 in the nation with 25 committed players.
