Following in his father's footsteps, Alijah Arenas is ranked as one of the most talented recruits in the Class of 2026. ESPN has given the Chatsworth High School player a 94 Scout Grade.

Arenas appeared on a YouTube video by Susosu Water with his father, 3x NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas. The video was titled "The Arenas Legacy: Alijah Arenas Rise to The Top With Gilbert Arenas' Mindset!" as the duo covered plenty of topics from life on and off the court.

In the video, the interviewer asked Arenas about his relationship with his father and what made it so special. Arenas pointed out that he felt "very comfortable," with him (18:46 - 19:12):

"I feel like anytime I want to have a conversation I'm just very comfortable, I feel like some people don't really have that with anything. I feel like anything I do I can get something good out of it so I know I could always have a conversation about anything whether it's swimming, basketball, anything," said Alijah Arenas.

Arenas also talked about his favorite Gilbert Arenas highlight and he referred to his game-winning 3-pointer against the Utah Jazz (19:52 - 20:16):

"Probably the one where he shot it and turn around put his hands up. I feel like I always think about that before the games like if I do hit a game winner, would I remember to do that?"
"I don't think I'd be able to shoot and turn around like I'll probably have to watch it go in then do it but I feel like it would to be the same but I always that's probably my favorite one," said Alijah Arenas.

Alijah Arenas climbs up on On3 rankings

Arenas had a terrific summer on the court. In an updated list of Top 25 high school basketball recruits, Arenas went up to No. 3 and also gained a star, making him a five-star recruit, according to On3, ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports.

He was ranked at the No. 6 spot earlier. However, after his performances in the summer, including the 17U level where Arenas scored 21.4 points while shooting 48% from the field and 24.3% from the 3-point line, he climbed up the rankings.

For Chatsworth High School, Arenas averaged 33 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.3 steals per contest. The Class of 2026 shooting guard has been phenomenal and already has 17 offers from various programs.
