Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts advances to Super Bowl

The Philadelphia Eagles faced off against Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game and clinched the victory with a 55-23 margin. The Eagles dominated the turf with 229 yards and a conference championship record of seven touchdowns.

Hurts registered 20 out of 28 passes for 246 yards, throwing a touchdown alongside rushing for three, averaging 8.8 yards per attempt.

With the Eagles' 'Tush-Push' tactic, they have had a success rate of 93.5% since the 2022 season. However, it has garnered criticism in the media, and calls have been made to ban it.

The Eagles have won their last 13 games in which Hurts has started and finished. In an interview with CBS Sports, he spoke about their win and his winning mindset.

"I think we need to change our approach to all of this. I don't play the game for stats. I don't play the game for numbers or any statistical approval from anyone else," Hurts said. "Winning and success is defined about that particular individual and how it's all relative to that one person. What I define it as is winning," he added.

Even coach Nick Sirianni praised Hurts, calling him a 'winner.'

"He's a winner. I don't want anyone else leading us other than Jalen Hurts," stated Eagles coach Nick Sirianni. "He deals with so much criticism, which just blows my mind. ... This guy wins. He's won his entire life. Winning at quarterback is more important than any stat that you go through," he added.

The Eagles and the Chiefs will face off on Feb. 9 in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.
