Wide receiver Colby Alexander from Archer High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, is one of the most underrated prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. However, he has been proactive in attending various football camps throughout the last few months.

Listed at 5-foot-8, 170-pounds on his Hudl profile, Alexander has yet to receive significant attention from top-tier programs, but his efforts are beginning to pay off, as he received a gameday invite from the UAB Blazers on Friday.

UAB’s Director of Recruiting, Tristan Henderson, made the offer, and Alexander enjoyed the Blazers' impressive 41-3 season-opening victory over Alcorn State on Thursday night. The win proved the program's strong defensive performance despite three turnovers in the first half.

Alexander posted about his gratitude on X, writing:

"Thank you for the game day invite @CoachHenDo88 and congrats on the W!! @AAppleby12 @Alex_Mortensen_ @RecruitGeorgia @PrepRedzoneGA @GeorgiaPrepMag @On3Recruits @adamgorney @RustyMansell_ @ChadSimmons_ @najehwilk @TheUCReport @InsideHashes @scoreatlanta @RyanWrightRNG @JeremyO_Johnson."

Colby Alexander’s recruiting journey strengthened earlier this year when Bucknell University extended an offer, followed by interest from Valparaiso and Wofford. With several key matchups ahead for UAB, including games against LA-Monroe, Arkansas and Navy, his equation with the program throughout the season will be interesting to see.

Colby Alexander's athletic profile

Colby Alexander is projected to be one of the best-kept secrets among wide receiver recruits in the 2025 cycle. In July, he earned a spot on the preseason All-County second team. His performance in the opening week of the season was incredible, with eight receptions for 143 yards and one touchdown.

Last year, Alexander missed the early part of the season due to an injury and made an impact, earning second-team All-Region honors. Over the final five games, he caught 19 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns.

According to Prep Redzone, Colby Alexander's athleticism allows him to excel both in the slot and on the outside. His game-changing speed is evident in his ability to break away from defenders and make explosive plays.

As a four-time track and field All-American, Alexander boasts a 4.41-second 40-yard dash time. He was a key member of Archer High School’s 4x100 relay team, which set a school record and recorded the second-fastest time in Gwinnett County history last year.

According to MaxPreps, Colby Alexander ranks No. 35 nationally in one category and No. 7 in Georgia.
