With AJ Dybantsa officially signed by BYU, the spotlight has turned to high school basketball's other No. 1-ranked prospect, Aaliyah Chavez, who remains uncommitted. Five schools are left vying for her commitment: Texas Tech, Texas, UCLA, Oklahoma and South Carolina.

Davis Sports Report's YouTube channel broke down her top 5 schools on Saturday, with many fans talking about where she could go. Some pointed out why Kim Mulkey's LSU is not in contention anymore.

"I heard that she wanted a million dollars to join LSU, and that Kim Mulkey declined . That is why LSU is out of the recruitment for her," a fan commented.
"Her reputation is already shattered with the NIL deal of 1 mill she’s requesting. Most schools don’t see the value, she takes a lot of bad shots and does not know how to play with a team at all. Tech or OU will be the likely destinations as the others she won’t be able to shoot 40 times a game," another fan wrote.
"Kim Mulkey was not going to pay her that $million she is seeking.. though that is hella cheap compared to the $7M AJ Dybantsa from BYU. STILL, I think Mulkey did the smart thing in targeting the other top 20/30 players.😅," one fan said.

Others gave their takes on which school Chavez should commit to.

"Here is how I think about it: Best chance to win a championship is SC. Best chance to start as a freshman on a championship caliber team is Texas. Playing style that most fits your preference is OU. Close to home is Texas Tech. Assuming all things equal with NIL money, I would pick Texas. It’s not too far away from home and gives you the best chance to be a starter for multiple years and be the homegrown hero of the state and yes, play for a great coach who will be there," a fan wrote.
"Good or bad, she's in it for the money. She'll go to Texas Tech because they will build the team around her (a la Caitlin Clark and Iowa). She'll start, play lots of minutes, and her numbers will look amazing bc the rest of that team sucks! Then she'll enter the transfer portal, and that's where she plans to hit the jackpot! no telling how much she will demand after a big freshman year. and now, because she will have proven she can play at the college level, she'll probably get what she asks, plus some! a whole lotta some!" another fan commented.
"Aaliyah has not visited SC. So obviously they are not a factor. Maybe she is keeping SC listed is a novelty. But i wish folks would be honest about these things. The Gamecocks have not received a visit. My guess is she attends Texas Tech," one fan said.
