These days, La La Anthony is a successful actress and TV host, who has appeared in several movies and TV shows. However, during Saturday's Tokyo vlog on the Overtime YouTube channel, her son, four-star basketball prospect Kiyan Anthony, revealed an amusing bit about her past. She used to work at an ice cream shop and was fired for an embarrassing reason.

While visiting a mall in Tokyo, La La Anthony and her family were out for ice cream when Kiyan brought up his mother's former job at Baskin-Robbins, playfully putting her on the spot by asking why she was fired.

"Tell them how you got fired from Baskin-Robbins," said Kiyan Anthony to an embarrassed La La. "First job ever." (5:12-5:15)
"Cause we were stealing ice cream," La La Anthony said. "That was maybe like my second job, but my cousin Dice got fired first. We were taking home pints and pints of ice cream." (5:18-5:27)

Kiyan, La La, and several other family members were in Japan for vacation, especially now that the Nike EYBL Peach Jam is over, allowing Kiyan to finally take a break from his whirlwind summer. This included winning gold at the 2024 U17 World Cup in Turkey, watching the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France, competing at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam in Augusta, Georgia, and appearing on Paul George's "Podcast P" show and training with him.

La La Anthony scolds Kiyan Anthony in Japan for lying about his height

Kiyan and La La Anthony went shopping in Tokyo, exploring malls, clothing stores and thrift shops around the city. Despite being a shooting guard, Kiyan was seen towering over everyone, prompting one tourist to ask him about his height. Kiyan told him he was 6-5, but his mom called him out on his lie.

"You're 6-4, baby, stop lying," La La said to her son, Kiyan. (15:14-15:17)

Kiyan pushed back on his mom after he was called out, claiming that he has been measured recently. At 17, he is still growing, but the jury is still out on his actual height. 247Sports lists Kiyan at 6-4, while ESPN already has him at 6-5.
