Dayton Raiola, the younger brother of Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola, plays his high school football for Buford in Georgia. He is a three-star recruit from the class of 2026 who announced his commitment to his brother's college in Nebraska on September 22, 2024.
Dayton has led his high school team to a record of 5-1 so far this season. Their recent win came against the Collins Hill Eagles from Georgia on Saturday. The Eagles came into the game with an unbeaten record of 6-0 but lost their first game of the season, largely thanks to Dayton Raiola's performance.
Dayton Ra `iola led his team to 34-7 victory and showcased his skills throughout the game. One play in particular grabbed fans' attention on social media. MaxPreps shared a post on their Instagram account showcasing Dayton's 60+ yards bomb to receiver, Jordan Allen, that extended Buford's lead to 20-7.
Fans were quick to share their reactions to the play. The majority of the fans praised the quarterback for his brilliant pass.
"That was 60+ yards in the air," one fan said.

However, there was one fan in particular who was shocked to realize there are two Raiolas in the world playing the position.

Some fans even compared Dayton to the Kansas City Chiefs' superstar quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.
"Went from making a name for himself to he becoming a Mahomes Clone in Nebraska," one fan said.
"Lefty Mahomes," another fan said.
Dayton is ranked No. 573 nationally and is the 49th-best quarterback in the country from his class, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the 51st-best overall prospect from the state of Georgia.

Dayton Raiola is continuing his family tradition of playing for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He is the son of former Nebraska offensive lineman Dominic Raiola and the younger brother of the current Nebraska quarterback, Dylan Raiola.
Dayton announced his decision to commit to the Cornhuskers in September this year. He chose Nebraska over other top schools, such as Charlotte, Appalachian State, and Georgia.
The 6-foot-1 quarterback became the Cornhuskers' first commitment from the class of 2026. The program has landed 19 commitments from the class of 2025 and is ranked No.26 in the football team rankings, as per 247Sports.
