Basketball fans have reacted to the latest high school basketball rankings released by SportsCenter Next on Instagram on Wednesday. Cayden and Cameron Boozer’s Christopher Columbus High School (Florida) was No. 1, followed by Brewster Academy (New Hampshire).
Montverde Academy (Florida) took the third spot ahead of AZ Compass Prep (Arizona) and IMG Academy (Florida).
However, fans were not happy with the rankings, with some asking about Grayson High School's (Georgia) omission from the list.
“Where is Grayson?" a fan asked.
“Where is Calvary Christian Academy out of South Florida not top 25 here,” another fan commented.
“This list looks a lot better then the first 8 weeks. Id add Grayson, Orem, and Rainier Beach but at least all 25 of these teams are legit,” a fan wrote.
Others also disagreed with the rankings, mentioning Owasso High School (Oklahoma) and Grayson again.
“These rankings are unserious lol,” a fan said.
“Owasso should be higher,” another fan wrote.
“You abt to start a riot in ga having wheeler on the list and not Grayson,” one fan commented.
Grayson fans may be right in their assessment as the school has a 17-2 record.
The Rams are also 7-0 in their region and have lost just one of their last nine games. As for Owasso, the school is 12-3 and 6-0 in its district.
Columbus earned the top spot
While there could be arguments about which schools should have been included, it's hard to contest why Columbus was given the top spot. The Explorers have been excellent this season, losing just three of 20 games. They also have a perfect home record (6-0).
Columbus is on a four-game winning streak, including a 75-65 victory over Perry on Tuesday, where Cameron Boozer dominated. The No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2025, per On3, dropped 31 points, 13 rebounds and three 3-pointers.
Boozer also helped Columbus win the City of Palms Classic for the first time in school history with a 59-57 victory over Montverde Academy in the showpiece game.
