Five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham has been vocal about his firm commitment to Alabama. However, Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss is still heavily pursuing him for its 2025 class.
Speaking with BamaOnline, Cunningham acknowledged the consistent efforts of Ole Miss.
"I actually feel good about Ole Miss," Cunningham said on Monday. "They haven’t stopped recruiting me since day one and they definitely show that they want me."
Cunningham was back at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium last Saturday for Ole Miss' game against Oklahoma. Despite playing without wide receiver Tre Harris, Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart ensured the 26-14 win by completing 22 of 30 passes for 311 yards.
Cunningham shared his experience with Inside the Rebels on Monday.
"Everything stood out, especially with Jaxson Dart, Tre Harris and Austin Simmons having a conversation with me."
Ole Miss is not the only school from the Southeastern Conference vying for Cunningham's talents, as Auburn, LSU and Mississippi State are also in the mix. However, the Rebels are making a strong push to flip him to their 2025 class, which ranks No. 19 in the nation with 18 committed players.
Flipping Cunningham from Alabama will be a tough task, given the fact that the Crimson Tide's 2025 class ranks No. 1 in the nation with 23 committed players. The class holds the commitments of four other five-star prospects.
Caleb Cunningham opens up about Ole Miss fan's pitch to flip him
Caleb Cunningham made his first visit to Ole Miss this season during the Rebels' 76-0 win against Furman on Aug. 31. He received a lot of support from Rebels fans during his visit on Saturday, as they want him to reconsider his commitment to Alabama.
"When we were riding around the Grove after the game, everybody was saying, 'Come to the Sip, Caleb,' and people were stopping me to get a picture," Cunningham said, via Inside the Rebels.
"Even during the game, some little kids spotted me, and wanted to get a pic. We were also walking around the Grove before the game and all eyes were on me."
On3's recruiting insider Josh Newburg reported that Cunningham could return to Oxford for the Georgia game on Nov. 9.
