Four-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan, from Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, Alabama, is an elite pass catcher in the 2026 class. He has already received offers from Auburn, Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Missouri, Ohio State and Tennessee, among others.
Coach Hugh Freeze welcomed many of Auburn's commits back to the program along with top targets in the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes during Big Cat Weekend. Morgan was one of them to visit the program on Saturday for the recruiting event and left with heavy praise.
“It was a great experience,” Morgan told On3. “I had a lot of fun. They made me feel like I was at home. I just enjoyed the players and the coaching staff."
Cederian Morgan had a quality time with his former teammate and current Auburn freshman wide receiver Malcolm Simmons, along with coaches.
“I got a chance to get closer with all of the players and coaches. They just made me feel like I was home. It would be a good place for me to be.”
Morgan said he would make a commitment in the fall or the spring but he knows what he will check when he makes the decision.
“Just communication. I’ll be around them a lot, so be around a good crowd as far as the scheme fit and coaching, but mainly communication. Just keeping in touch with me."
Standing tall at 6-foot-5 and weighing 210 pounds, Cederian Morgan is ranked as the No. 252 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 37 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 11 recruit in Alabama, according to On3.
247Sports lists him as the No. 20 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 4 wide receiver in the class and the No. 2 recruit in Alabama. He has been compared to former Clemson players Tee Higgins and Mike Williams.
Which programs are in contention for Cederian Morgan's commitment?
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine places Auburn in the lead with a 34.2% chance of landing Cederian Morgan. Despite the Tigers’ recent surge in his recruitment following Big Cat Weekend, Auburn has consistently been a top contender for him.
Alabama is another strong competitor, as 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Tom Loy submitted a crystal ball projection in favor of the Crimson Tide on June 5. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Alabama has a 29.9% chance of securing Morgan’s commitment.
The Tide made their move after Morgan's impressive camp performance on May 31, with wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard serving as the primary recruiter:
“If I had to do out of 10, it would be 8 or 9. They’re definitely near the top of the list,” Morgan told On3. “Just the tradition that they’ve had for a real long time. The receivers they have had are amazing. What they have done with all their receivers.”
Clemson also remains in the mix, with a 13.4% chance of earning Cederian Morgan’s commitment.
"Most schools, they get you running the forty, combine drill and stuff like that," Morgan told SI. "But with Clemson, it was a lot of individual drills, a lot of teaching, one-on-ones, and stuff like that. It was a lot of teaching and learning from coaches and current players and past players.”
Florida, with an 11.2% chance, is another noteworthy contender. Morgan attended the Gators’ summer OTA, where he was impressed by the coaching staff’s bond with their players.
“I saw a lot of things, and I learned a lot of things,” Morgan told Gators Wire. “I love the coaching staff, and how they bond with their players.”
It will be interesting to see which program ultimately wins the race.
