Linkon Cure, a five-star prospect from Goodland High School, is one of the Oregon Ducks' top targets. The Class of 2025 tight end announced his commitment to the Kansas State Wildcats on July 1. He chose them over programs such as Kansas, Texas A&M and Texas.
However, despite his commitment, the Ducks are the favorites to flip his pledge and sign him, as per On3's recruiting analyst, Steve Wiltfong.
"Oregon was trending for Linkon Cure to flip him. They never gave up man, Dan Lanning and Company," Wiltfong said, as per On3 Recruits' YouTube channel. "He went and visited him when coaches could be on the road again. This is one of their favorite guys, regardless of position. I think that they’re ultimately going to land him."
Cure is ranked No. 40 in the country and is the second-best tight end in the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is also the second-best overall prospect from the state of Kansas.
Linkon Cure talks about the Oregon Ducks
Linkon Cure is predicted to land in Oregon. The Kansas State commit has already taken multiple visits to Eugene in the last few weeks and is excited about the thought of playing for the Ducks.
He spoke about the program in an interview as the Ducks continue to march forward in their pursuit of the talented tight end.
"Everything stands out about Oregon for me," Cure said, as per Sports Illustrated. "What is there not to love, honestly? It’s a great route for me personally for a multitude of reasons and we’ll just have to see how the weekend goes. It’ll be a lot of fun to be around the coaching staff. They are like a family to me."
He further talked about his visit to Eugene:
"It was an awesome visit. I loved my time there and it felt like I never left. I absolutely loved the environment and the experience."
Linkon Cure has a chance of becoming the Ducks' 18th commitment from the Class of 2025, as per 247Sports. According to the recruiting website, Oregon's class is ranked No. 7 in the country. Dan Lanning's program has landed three five-star recruits: Dakorien Moore, Dallas Wilson and Brandon Finney.
