Indiana held its first junior days for the 2026 and 2027 recruiting campaigns this weekend. Four-star quarterback Brodie McWhorter from Cass High School (Georgia) was among the main prospects to visit Curt Cignetti's program during this event, and he left an impression.

"They overemphasized making sure I know that I’m their guy," McWhorter told Rivals following the trip.

McWhorter also shared his experience on X, tagging Cignetti, quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator Chandler Whitmer, and Eddie Burk Jr., the offensive skill players' quality control coach.

"Incredible time in Bloomington! Excited to get back soon #NeverDaunted @CCignettiIU @chandlerwhitmer @CoachEddie2."

McWhorter's junior season was cut short due to a broken fibula, ending a promising year in which he had already accumulated nearly 1,200 total yards, 14 touchdowns with a 72% completion rate. Despite the injuries, Indiana's coaching staff has remained confident in him, with Whitmer even paying him a personal visit earlier this month.

"They let me know how much they love my film, and how they love my character on the field as well as off," McWhorter told 247Sports following Whitmer's trip. "They said that I am a priority for them because I can be a difference-maker."

Brodie McWhorter de-committed from West Virginia last month, but the Mountaineers remain a strong contender in his recruitment. Other programs vying for his commitment include Georgia, Florida State, Auburn and Ohio State.

Brodie McWhorter raves about Curt Cignetti's historic season

Indiana's hopes of capturing the 2024 national title ended with a 27-17 playoff loss to Notre Dame on Dec. 20. However, Curt Cignetti's phenomenal leadership guided the Hoosiers to a remarkable 11-2 season in his debut year as head coach. For Brodie McWhorter, Cignetti's success warranted appreciation.

"What sticks out the most is how in year one Coach Cignetti came in and proved himself," McWhorter told 247Sports. "Week after week they would get doubted and they would still carry on and shock the world and move on like nothing happened."

McWhorter could be a key addition to Indiana's 2026 recruiting class, which is still waiting for its first commitment. He is the No. 33 quarterback in the 2026 class and the No. 52 recruit in Georgia, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
