Michigan has extended scholarships to multiple prospects in the nation, including four-star offensive tackle Adam Guthrie. Wolverines coach Sherrone Moore and offensive line coach, Grant Newsome, offered him on Friday for their 2026 class.
Guthrie was thrilled by the opportunity, expressing excitement about potentially teaming up with Michigan’s prized quarterback commit, Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 recruit and quarterback in the 2025 class.
"Very bright future and to block for a Heisman contender would be pretty cool to keep his jersey clean and allow him to do what he does best," Guthrie told 247 Sports.
Guthrie has received offers from more than 30 college programs. Despite narrowing his list to a top five that includes Auburn, Kentucky, Appalachian State, Arkansas and Boston College, he acknowledges the relentless pursuit by other top-tier programs.
In an interview with The Clemson Insider, he noted that schools like Georgia, Texas, Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan and Penn State have been recruiting him the hardest. However, Guthrie remains patient and focused on finding the right fit.
“A place that can develop me the best and a place that feels like home to me,” Guthrie said when discussing his commitment criteria.
Guthrie attends Miami Trace High School in Washington Court House, Ohio. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the in-state Ohio State Buckeyes are the leader in his recruitment, with a 34.3% chance of securing his commitment.
Guthrie primarily plays left tackle, but he also shows versatility by lining up on the right side when needed. He has recorded 89 pancake blocks while allowing zero pressures or sacks this season. He registered 89 pancakes this season while allowing zero pressures or sacks.
