Top 2 commitments Josh Heupel's Tennessee flipped
#2. Da'Saahn Brame - Tight End
Da'Saahn Brame, a 6-foot-6, 235-pound tight end, represents one of Tennessee's most notable recruitment victories. Originally committed to Oregon, Brame reversed his decision on July 30, 2024, opting instead to join the Vols.
As the No. 5 ranked tight end and the No. 112 player overall in the 2025 class, Brame became the 19th commit in Josh Heupel's Tennessee 2025 class and joined four-star Jack Van Dorselaer, making the Vols' tight-end group even more formidable.
“I kind of knew further in my heart, deep down, that that's where I wanted to be, is Tennessee,” Brame told 247sports. "Kind of, like, felt rushed and pressured a little bit to make a decision after my (official visit) to Oregon.
"But after thinking with my parents, I think it's the best spot for me. … It didn't feel right when I committed to Oregon. So, I mean, I kind of knew this is where I wanted to be."
During his junior season, Brame showcased his potential by catching 46 passes for 942 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns, making him a critical piece in the Vols’ future offensive plans.
#1. Jaedon Harmon - Linebacker
Perhaps the most impactful commitment flip for Josh Heupel in the 2024 recruiting cycle came from Jaedon Harmon, a four-star linebacker who switched his allegiance from Alabama to Tennessee on Aug. 18, 2024.
Harmon ranked No. 155 overall and No. 18 among linebackers in the 2025 class by 247Sports Composite, brings a dynamic skill set to the Vols. Harmon’s decision to join Josh Heupel's Tennessee was influenced by the consistent and respectful treatment he received from the program.
"Even when I had no offers, I went down there, and they had treated me the same as they treat me now," Harmon told On3. "It was equal, and that is a big part to me."
Harmon's decision was also shaped by his fit within Tennessee’s defensive scheme, particularly under linebackers coach William Inge. Harmon envisions himself thriving in Tennessee’s system:
“I see myself being able to fit into that scheme great. Just because of the way they use their inside backers, then the ways they use their WILL backers and send them off the edge and use them to cover. It is all stuff that I am really good at.”
As a junior, Harmon recorded 80 tackles, five sacks, eight tackles for loss, five quarterback hurries, three pass breakups and an interception.
