Four-star prospect Dequane Prevo, from Liberty-Eylau High School in Texarkana, Texas, is one of the top wide receivers in the 2026 class. He planned to announce his commitment on Jul. 30 but later set a commitment date for Nov. 24.

Prevo is ranked by the On3 Industry Rankings as the No. 253 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 40 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 32 recruit in Texas. A three-sport athlete who excels in football, basketball, track and field.

Dequane Prevo's top four schools are Arkansas, Oklahoma, Penn State and Texas. Let's see which three schools have the most potential to secure his commitment.

Top 3 programs vying for Dequane Prevo

3. Texas

Texas is 8-1 overall and 4-1 in the Southeastern Conference. For prospects like Dequane Prevo, the Longhorns provide every potential, including elite facilities, national exposure and a growing reputation in the SEC.

The Longhorns’ 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation, boasting 22 committed players. The 2026 recruiting cycle is still young, with Texas having secured commitments from two players: four-star wide receiver Chris Stewart and five-star quarterback Dia Bell.

Texas also witnessed the decommitment of four-star running back Raycine Guillory but holds the potential of securing his commitment for second-time with a 39% chance.

2. Penn State

Penn State has long been interested in Prevo, and coach James Franklin extended him an offer last year during an unofficial visit to State College.

For Penn State, securing Prevo would add another weapon to its 2026 class that ranks No. 5. It has already secured commitments from wide receivers Jahsiear Rogers and Lavar Keys, both three-star talents from the East Coast.

Other names in Penn State’s 2026 class include interior offensive lineman Kevin Brown, running back Messiah Mickens, quarterback Troy Huhn and safety Matt Sieg.

1. Arkansas

Arkansas appears to be in the driver’s seat to secure Prevo’s commitment. The Razorbacks were one of the earliest programs to recognize his potential and extended an offer two years ago.

Prevo attended a Texas A&M vs. Arkansas game in Arlington on Sept. 28, witnessing the Razorbacks’ close 21–17 loss to the Aggies. Although the Aggies were once considered a leading contender for Prevo, they have since fallen out of his top four, making Arkansas’s position even stronger.

Arkansas has five commitments in its 2026 class, which ranks No. 15 in the nation and No. 9 in the SEC. This class lacks a wide receiver, making Prevo a priority target. The Razorbacks’ 2026 commitments include edge rusher Colton Yarbrough, quarterback Jayvon Gilmore and three safety prospects: Kyndrick Williams, Adam Auston and Tay Lockett.
