The South Florida high school basketball season is approaching, and hoops fans are gearing up for the ultimate spectacle of skills and talents. South Florida is a powerhouse of basketball talent and has nurtured generations of skilled players who have made a name for themselves on the professional stage.

Scottie Barnes, Tre Mann, and David Robinson have all honed their skills in Florida and went on to make it big at the national level. Now, a new breed of talented basketball players is ready to rise and shine. As the South Florida high school basketball season kicks off on Nov. 18, we took stock of the top 5 seniors to watch out for:

5. Matthew Able

Matthew Able is a skilled player recognized for his court vision and scoring abilities. He is a 6-foot-5 small forward from Sagemont Prep School who is ranked No. 98 among the top basketball recruits of the 2025 class. He scored 35 points, including seven rebounds, against Southern Assault, asserting his status as a dominant player.

4. Shon Abev

Shon Abev is a basketball powerhouse who can impact the coming season. Hailing from Fort Lauderdale, he is ranked No. 30 in the 2025 class per 247Sports. The 6-foot-7 forward from Calvary Christian Academy is known for his fluidity on court and scoring abilities. Likewise, his talent in shooting at long range makes him a dynamic player on the court and a valuable addition to the team.

3. Ethan Bertrand

Bertrand effectively combines his size and skills, making him a valuable asset on the court. A competent 6-foot-3 point guard from Westminster Academy, Bertrand also possesses excellent rebound and defensive skills, allowing him to impact the game across multiple areas. As a senior, he can be instrumental in his team's performance in the coming season.

2. Cayden Boozer

One half of NBA great Carlos Boozer's twin sons, Cayden is set to carry forward his father's legacy. He is a standout from Columbus High School with impressive scoring abilities and defensive skills. He has also committed to Duke like his brother, Cameron Boozer. The 6-foot-4 guard converted 40% of his 3s and 75% of his free throws last year in E16 play. Currently ranked No. 21 in the class of 2025, Cayden Boozer is set to make a significant impact this year as a senior.

One player who is sure to turn heads in the upcoming season is Cameron Boozer. The recent Duke commit is a No. 1-ranked forward in the 2025 class. The 6-foot-9 forward from Columbus High School is renowned for his scoring ability and versatility. In July, he led his team to the title in Nike Peach Jam with 20.4 points and 10.1 rebounds. He is expected to contribute this season again, making him a player to watch closely.
