The No. 1 overall prospect in the high school basketball Class of 2025 AJ Dybantsa is no longer available after announcing he is going to BYU this week, but there are still some top prospects who are yet to commit to any college.
As a result, schools are making conscious efforts in this early signing window to recruit the top prospects who are still available. With that said, let's take a look at some of the top remaining prospects in the Class of 2025.
6. Alijah Arenas (No.15 overall, Shooting Guard)
Arenas, the son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, was not initially ranked as he was listed in the Class of 2026. However, the Chatsworth shooting guard star reclassified to the Class of 2025 and that put him inside the top 25 at number 15 in ESPN’s latest ranking.
A five-star prospect, Arenas has received offers from many colleges, including Fresno State, Washington State, Arizona (his father’s alma mater), UTEP and UCLA.
UCLA appears to be leading the race for him according to On3, with the Bruins given a 34.4% chance of signing him.
5. Mikel Brown Jr. (No. 11 overall, Point Guard)
Mikel Brown Jr. is considered one of the top point guards in the Class of 2025. He is ranked third at his position and 11th overall. As of today, Brown has yet to commit but has received offers from Louisville, Alabama, Kentucky, UCF and Providence.
The 6-foot-3 DME Academy star is tipped to choose Louisville, who have a 88.1% chance of signing the point guard.
4. Brayden Burries (No. 10 overall, Shooting Guard)
Burries is in a special place as he is ranked as the second best shooting guard in the Class of 2025 and 10th overall. The 6-foot-4 Roosevelt star averaged 24.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in the 2023-24 season.
Burries has received offers from Arizona, USC, Oregon, Alabama and SMU. However, Arizona is the favourite to land the Riverside, California native.
3. Koa Peat (No. 8 overall, Power Forward)
Ranked eighth overall and as the third power forward, Peat is one of the most sought-after prospects in his class.
The son of former NFL star Todd Peat and a FIBA U-17 World Cup winner has offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, Texas and Arizona, who are given a 26.1% chance of signing him.
2. Caleb Wilson (No. 6 overall, Power Forward)
The Class of 2025 is blessed with many top power forwards and Caleb Wilson is one of them. Wilson sits sixth overall in his class and second in his position, behind Cameron Boozer. The 6-foot-9 Holy Innocents Episcopal School star has yet to commit to any college but has offers from Ohio State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn and Kentucky, who are currently leading the race for him.
1. Nate Ament (No. 4 overall, Small Forward)
With Dybantsa out of the picture, the next small forward colleges are after is Nate Ament of VA Highland. Ranked No. 4 overall and second behind Dybantsa at his position, Ament is a man in demand.
Ament’s profile is on the rise after signing an NIL deal with Reebok, but the 6-foot-9 small forward has not yet made a decision on where he wants to play college basketball.
Duke leads the race for him but Tennessee, Louisville and Notre Dame are also in the mix for his services.
