Oregon Ducks signee Dakorien Moore stole the spotlight at the 2025 Polynesian Bowl on Friday with a jaw-dropping 75-yard, one-handed touchdown catch.
However, another moment involving Moore and outgoing Colorado Buffaloes cornerback Travis Hunter also captured significant attention. Hunter, Team Makai’s honorary captain, sprinted onto the field to celebrate Moore's touchdown.
Both athletes lost their footing during their exuberant leap for a shoulder bump. Moore hit the turf awkwardly, while Hunter struggled to stay balanced, with his leg bending unnaturally.
The incident drew a flood of humorous yet concerned reactions from fans on Instagram.
“Travis almost ended both they careers,” one wrote.
“Travis’ agent almost had a heart attack,” another wrote.
"Bro casually got Travis Hunter watching him," one fan wrote.
"Ngl shit coulda went sideways fast for both of em," another wrote.
"They both damnear ended they career," one wrote.
Hunter, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and a projected top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, has Pro Day and the NFL Scouting Combine on his horizon, making the mishap a moment of heightened anxiety for NFL teams.
Moore, meanwhile, has been making waves beyond the Polynesian Bowl. Earlier this month, he earned MVP honors at the Under Armour All-American Game after an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown. Reflecting on the play, Moore told ESPN:
"I ain't gonna lie, when that ball had another bounce it came to me. It was God telling me to pick it up. As a returner, you want the ball so bad, you know you don't get too many of those opportunities where the ball actually comes to you because they don't want to kick you the ball."
The Duncanville High School standout now looks ahead to his freshman season at Oregon, while Hunter prepares for the NFL draft, set to begin Apr. 24 in Green Bay.
Dakorien Moore shines as co-offensive MVP at 2025 Polynesian Bowl
Five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore spectacularly concluded his high school career, earning co-offensive MVP honors at the 2025 Polynesian Bowl. Moore recorded six receptions for a game-high 130 yards and two touchdowns in Team Makai's 28–21 victory over Team Mauka.
With the game tied at 21 and just two minutes remaining, USC quarterback commit Husan Longstreet connected with Moore for a stunning 75-yard touchdown. The highlight-reel play sealed the win for Team Makai and solidified Moore’s case for the co-offensive MVP award.
Moore now enters his freshman season at Oregon, where expectations are sky-high. Following standout freshman campaigns from wide receivers Ryan Williams and Jeremiah Smith, Moore is projected to step directly into the starting lineup, filling the void left by star wideout Tez Johnson. He is expected to form a duo with returning wide receiver Evan Stewart in 2025.
Oregon’s impressive recruiting haul includes five participants in the Polynesian Bowl, part of a class ranked No. 4 nationally by 247Sports.
