No. 22 recruit Braylon Mullins officially committed to the Huskies on Wednesday. After receiving commitments from four-star recruits Darius Adams and Eric Reibe, Mullins becomes the third talent addition to coach Dan Hurley's squad.
Mullins visited the UConn Huskies on Aug. 1 and the commitment move was made public via an Instagram post that featured him alongside Hurley on Oct. 23:
The 6-foot-5 guard from Greenfield-Central High School ranks at the sixth spot in the shooting guard position and third in Indiana.
According to 247Sports, Mullins had received 32 offers from programs including Connecticut, Alabama, North Carolina, Michigan, Arkansas, Butler, Cincinnati and more.
His high school coach Luke Meredith talked about Braylon Mullins as a player while talking to insider Adam Zagoria:
"[He's a] pure scorer at every level," Greenfield-Central coach told Zagoria. "Best shooter in the country, in my opinion. High basketball IQ and an elite passer with both hands."
His top four programs included UConn, Indiana, Michigan and North Carolina, according to On3. Mullins explained his decision to join UConn while speaking with the outlet:
“I chose UConn because of a few reasons. Culture was a big part, it’s all about winning. The playstyle fit me extremely well, and with their play style, I can develop myself as a successful player," said Mullins.
He also talked about the kind of relationship he shared with head coach Hurley.
"I’ve also built a very strong relationship with Coach Hurley and the staff. They made it feel like home. I trust Coach Hurley and the staff because I feel like they give me the best shot of reaching my goals as a player.”
