It is no secret that AJ Dybantsa is one of the most athletic high school basketball stars out there right now. With that athleticism comes a genuine skill in dunking, and he has done so throughout the season. Ball Is Life's Instagram account posted highlight reels of the BYU commit's best dunks of the year on Instagram on Saturday, including a monster under-the-legs slam.
These dunks have wowed fans all over the country, including one particular child featured in the video of the under-the-legs slam. Fans also reacted in the comments section of the post.
"Under both legs in game is crazy," one fan said.
"HS kids taking seats mid-air during in game dunks it’s getting wicked out here," another fan said.
"People are scared to put a body on him. He's walking to the basket everytime 😂," one fan said.
There were also people celebrating that he will be going to BYU next year, while others were making the usual comparisons with NBA players, both current and former.
"Paul George 2.0," one fan said.
"and he is coming to byu 🔥🔥," another fan said.
"I’ve seen enough, send him to the league!" one fan said.
AJ Dybantsa is currently ranked the No. 1 overall prospect from the Class of 2025. The Utah Prep small forward committed to BYU on Dec. 10, choosing the school, which is not known for its basketball program, over traditional powerhouse schools such as North Carolina and Kansas, as well as rising powerhouses like Alabama.
AJ Dybantsa and Utah Prep in Hawaii for the Iolani Classic
Utah Prep point guard JJ Madaquit was originally from Hawaii, and the team traveled to the state to compete in the Iolani Classic against Hawaiian teams and a few other teams from the mainland.
AJ Dybantsa and co. kicked off their campaign against local team, Kahuku, with a massive 107-50 victory last Dec. 18. The No. 1 ranked 2025 prospect led the way with 21 points, while Mandaquit added 20. The win meant that Utah Prep would be competing against host Iolani in the quarterfinals.
Mandaquit used to play with Iolani before transferring to the mainland, and he helped Utah Prep win against his old team, 84-30 on Thursday. This was the same game where Dybantsa did that under-both-legs slam.
It was a much closer game in the semi-final on Friday, with Utah Prep defeating Oak Hill 63-52. Dybantsa had a game-high 26 points in the game.
