“Vol lock” “Go to Nebraska”: CFB fans left abuzz as 5-star OT David Sanders Jr. gears up to choose between talent powerhouses

David Sanders Jr. is one of the best high school prospects from the class of 2025. The five-star recruit from Providence Day High School is currently sitting on more than 20 offers from some of the best programs in the country.

Schools such as Clemson, South Carolina, Alabama, NC State, Florida State, Michigan, USC, Florida, LSU, Auburn and Texas A&M have all extended offers to the five-star recruit. However, there are only four teams in the running to land Sanders. These are Georgia, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Tennessee.

The offensive tackle is set to announce his commitment to one of these four top-tier institutions on Saturday. Fans are waiting to see where the top recruit commits to come decision day. They took to social media to express their excitement about the tackle's eventual commitment.

Fans of two teams in particular are flooding social media with their opinions. The Tennessee Volunteers and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are seemingly headed towards a collision course as both sets of fans are voicing their thoughts on Sanders' commitment.

Tennessee fans weren't far behind in voicing their support for the five-star recruit.

"As buckeye fan it will be Tennessee," one fan said.
"PLEASE BE A VOL," another fan said.
"Tennessee bound," one fan said.

David Sanders Jr. is ranked no.4 nationally and is the best offensive tackle from the class of 2025, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He is also the best overall prospect from his home state of North Carolina.


Tennessee Volunteers are the favorites to land David Sanders Jr.

David Sanders Jr., the five-star recruit from North Carolina, is set to announce his commitment on Saturday. The four finalists to acquire the top offensive tackle are Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio State and Nebraska. Although Nebraska is gaining ground, the Volunteers are the favorites to land the five-star prospect.

Tennessee has an 82.0% chance of landing the no.1 offensive tackle in the country, as per On3 Recruiting Machine. Sanders spoke about the program and its coaching staff in an earlier interview with On3.

"I just love Tennessee’s coaching staff," the North Carolina native told On3 in May during the On3 Elite Series in Nashville. "Coach (Josh) Heupel and Coach (Glen) Elarbee, they do a great job with that personal connection. I think out of anybody, they do the best job calling, texting, just staying in contact with my parents and building that relationship."

David Sanders Jr. has visited Tennessee five times this year with his latest stop being in July. Tennessee's class of 2025 is ranked no.6 in the country, as per 247Sports. Landing Sanders will boost their rankings and improve their overall roster for the upcoming season.
