JJ Mandaquit, a four-star point guard from Hilo, Hawaii, has formed a great duo with the Class of 2025's No.1 overall prospect AJ Dybantsa at Utah Prep High School. Both these young ballers played in the Border League in Las Vegas, Nevada, over the weekend and gave a great account of themselves.

Mandaquit, in particular, had a great outing against the Boozer twins' team, the Columbus Explorers. The 6-foot-1 point guard showcased all his skills in an Instagram video posted by League Ready.

Mandaquit showed quickness and athleticism while also making some tough shots. He also displayed elite vision to find his teammates in scoring positions and helped Utah Prep establish a 3-0 record in the Border League.

"JJ Mandaquit is the floor general behind Utah Prep’s 3-0 weekend in Vegas," read the caption of the Instagram post.

Mandaquit's teammate, AJ Dybantsa, had a stellar game himself against the Explorers. He finished with 28 points, four rebounds and a couple of assists.

The Hawaiian JJ Mandaquit is ranked No. 49 nationally and is the seventh-best point guard in the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is also the third-best overall prospect in the state of Utah.

The 6-foot-1 point guard from Utah Prep High School, JJ Mandaquit, has received offers from 15 college programs in the country. The list of offers includes Virginia, LSU, Tennessee, San Diego State, USC, Stanford, Louisville, BYU, Washington and California.

"It was very special to go back home," Mandaquit told On3's Jaime Shaw about his October 2023 visit to Hawaii. "I’ve heard a lot of stuff about the campus and the program over the phone, but going there and meeting with everyone in person and seeing their plan for me was pretty cool to see. A lot of their pitch was to come back home and do something special."

Hawaii became the first college program to extend an offer to Mandaquit on July 19, 2022. Mandaquit was part of the USA U17 team that won the FIBA World Cup in Turkey this year. During his time with the USA team, Mandaquit averaged 6.6 points, 6.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
