After announcing his commitment to the BYU Cougars on Tuesday, AJ Dybantsa is back on the court for Utah Prep. The No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025 was up against Beckham Black's Duncanville at Lehi’s Holiday Hoopfest showcase on Saturday.

The Brockton, MA native recorded a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds in the 74-60 victory. Famous basketball page Slam High School took to Instagram to upload some of his highlights as he dominated the Duncanville defense:

The No. 36 recruit in the Class of 2027 Beckham Black finished the game with 14 points. However, AJ Dybantsa stole the show.

He talked to reporters about the win:

“It was a good performance, but we won, and that’s all that matters,” Dybantsa said. “We’re improving. We’ve lost a couple games, but (tonight) we bounced back.”

Dybantsa helped his teammates by setting up screens, finding the open man whenever possible and playing the extra pass:

“It’s a team game,” Dybantsa said. “I mean, everybody’s got to eat. I’m not the only one playing. I try to put on a show, but I also want to keep it simple. The main objective is to win, but I try to warm up the crowd and put on a little show.”

Sportswriter and BYU grad Jackson Payne took to X to share an image of Dybantsa surrounded by fans postgame:

"AJ Dybantsa: very popular guy," he captioned his tweet.

Dybantsa's final four colleges included BYU, Alabama, North Carolina and Kansas. This season for Utah Prep, the Brockton, MA native is averaging a double-double with 19.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

AJ Dybantsa gets mic'd up during his BYU visit

Dybantsa got special treatment from the BYU fans when he visited the arena for the Cougars vs. Fresno State Bulldogs game alongside his father Ace Dybantsa on Wednesday. He was mic'd up during the game and the BYU Men's Basketball Instagram page posted a video of the 6-foot-9 forward as he cheered them on:

"When do we start doing chants?" Dybantsa asked supporters next to him.

In the video, Dybantsa was also recorded talking about the sold-out arena and the shooting prowess of BYU players:

"We're gonna have this sold out every game next year. I'm gonna have me some shooters next year."

How far will BYU go next season after signing AJ Dybantsa, Xavion Staton and Chamberlain Burgess from the 2025 Class?
