Kiyan Anthony is coming to Syracuse with plenty of hype as he aims to continue his father's legacy in the school and forge his own path there. He was present during the school's home game against the Texas Long Horns on Thursday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. There, he finally addressed all the Syracuse fans in attendance.
The four-star shooting guard was asked how it felt to finally let the world know that he was going to Syracuse. Kiyan Anthony said that it felt great.
"Feels great man," he said. "I'm looking forward to it. Got an early sneak peek of Syracuse basketball, coming to the Barclays Center playing Texas, so I'm looking forward to it." (0:12-0:19)
This led to him being asked what kind of player would Syracuse fans get once he finally joins the Orange, and he said that they would not just get a good teammate, but also a player who would try to win the game.
"They're e just getting a good teammate, somebody who's ready to come in and play and k*ll someone who's trying to win, anything they can do for their team so I'm looking forward coming in here next year and putting on the show you." (0:24-0:33)
Kiyan Anthony made his big announcement on a pre-taped episode of his dad's podcast, "7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony," last Nov. 15. He chose Syracuse over USC.

During that same courtside interview, Kiyan Anthony was also asked what was in the school to make him decide to go with Syracuse. The guard stated that it was the environment and that the school welcomed him like no other.
"Just going up there and seeing the environment, the family that when I went up there, they welcomed me like no other school so I feel like along with the culture, the players that's there, the players that's coming in all of that played the part and you know ultimately chosen 'Cuse.'" (0:32-0:54)
The son of Carmelo Anthony also reflected on his goals for his senior year in high school, and he revealed that he would just try to win so he could translate to college.
Kiyan is currently ranked No. 35 overall and the No. 1 player in New York. He plays for Long Island Lutheran, a powerhouse school that is expected to win state this year.
