Sienna Betts and the No.21-ranked Grandview Wolves (Colorado) participated in the Nike Tournament of Champions. On Day 1, Chicago Sky forward and former UCLA Bruin Michaela Onyenwere dropped by to watch the UCLA signee. The Wolves faced Mt. Zion Prep Academy (Maryland) in the first round on Wednesday.
The five-star power forward had a strong performance with 23 points, as Onyenwere sat in the front row. The Grandview Wolves defeated Mt. Zion Prep Academy 59-32.
She signed with UCLA on Nov. 16 alongside Croatian guard Lena Bilic. She is expected to form a powerful frontline alongside her sister Lauren Betts, who plays center.
Sienna and Grandview faced Kaleena Smith, the No. 1 sophomore in the country, and the No. 1-ranked Ontario Christian Knights (California) in the second round on Thursday.
Despite the valiant effort from the Wolves, Smith and her team, which includes freshman phenoms Tatianna Griffin and Sydney Douglas, dominated as they won 88-70.
It was the Grandview Wolves' first loss this season.
Lauren Betts excited to play with sister Sienna Betts for the UCLA Bruins
Sienna Betts, the No. 2 prospect from the Class of 2025, is headed to UCLA and her older sister Lauren has expressed her excitement to play alongside her.
During a Dec. 13 interview with SportsCenter’s MJ Acosta-Ruiz, Lauren discussed several topics, including being teammates with Sienna next season.
"Oh, it's going to be amazing," Lauren said (03:49). "I'm looking forward to it, like I'm seriously just counting down the days. We talk about it all the time. I was actually just on FaceTime with her today and I was just like I can't believe that we're going to be experiencing this together next year."
The UCLA Bruins may already have the No. 2-ranked senior signed, but they are also actively pursuing the No. 1-ranked prospect in the Class of 2025, Aaliyah Chavez. The Monterey Lady Plainsmen (Texas) guard visited UCLA in October and would be an excellent fit with the Bruins, as she would have plenty of options to pass to, including Lauren and Sienna Betts.
