Julian Lewis, a five-star quarterback from Carrollton High School, flipped his commitment from the USC Trojans to the Colorado Buffaloes in late November. Deion Sanders and company heavily recruited him, and that relentless pursuit paid off. Lewis put his pen to paper and signed with the program on Dec. 4.
Lewis is expected to take over from the Buffaloes' current quarterback, Shedeur Sanders after he decides to declare for the NFL draft. The duo spent time together on the basketball court as they showed up to support Colorado's basketball team on Saturday.
Rivals' Twitter account shared the video of Sanders and Lewis pulling up to the Buffaloes' basketball game.
"The PRESENT and FUTURE," read the caption of the post.
The Buffaloes (9-2) have beaten the likes of then-No. 2 UConn and Harvard. They will take on the Iowa State Cyclones in their next game on Dec. 30.
Julian Lewis was one of the most highly recruited players in the Class of 2025. He initially announced his commitment to the Trojans in August 2023 but continued to explore other options throughout his recruiting process. The Buffaloes eventually won out and defeated programs such as Georgia, Auburn and Alabama for his signature.
Deion Sanders calls Julian Lewis a winner after signing him earlier this month
The Colorado Buffaloes landed one of the best quarterbacks in the 2025 class on National Signing Day. He's CU's best signing from the class and will be expected to lead his team.
Lewis is no stranger to leading his teams to a deep playoff run. The five-star prospect had an amazing high school career, and the Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders was impressed with his top signee.
"He’s everything that we desire in a quarterback. He’s smart, he could throw, make, every throw," Sanders said, as per On3. "He has pocket awareness, pocket presence. He is a darn leader, but most of all, he’s a winner. People forget that category when you look at the quarterback."
Julian Lewis is ranked No. 39 in the country and is the sixth-best overall prospect in the state of Georgia, according to On3. He is also the sixth-best quarterback in the Class of 2025.
In his three seasons with the Trojans, the five-star quarterback racked up 10,677 yards, 142 touchdowns and 19 interceptions while completing 69.0% of his passes.
