Four-star Duke commit Nikolas Khamenia delivered an outstanding performance on Friday, scoring 18 points to lead Harvard Westlake to a 73-63 win over Notre Dame. The game was more or less a toe-to-toe encounter between the power forward and No. 1-ranked Junior Tyran Stokes, who delivered 26 points, which unfortunately wasn't enough to secure a win for the Knights.
An Instagram post shared by Slam HS on Saturday showcased a brief highlight of both Nikolas Khamenia and Tyran Stokes during the game.
In one clip, Stokes is seen making a key interception on his team's side of the court, then driving through defenders and finishing with a powerful dunk. He was also seen connecting with teammates, hitting multiple shots, including three-pointers, putting up strong defensive efforts, and showing excitement after each play.
In the second clip highlighting Nikolas Khamenia's performance, he is seen hitting a three-pointer and making multiple buckets afterward. He also showed great teamwork, combining well with his teammates and finishing plays with precision.
Apart from Nikolas Khamenia, 6-foot-7 senior Isaiah Caroll and junior point guard Joe Sterling also played a crucial role in the Wolverines' victory, delivering 18 points each. For Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks), sophomore point guard Navarro Bowman contributed 16 points.
With the victory, Harvard Westlake (California) is currently on a 22-1 record, having only lost one game all season. Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks), on the other hand, is currently on an 18-4 record after the loss. They will be hoping to bounce back when they face Chaminade in their next game on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
What's Next for Nikolas Khamenia?
Nikolas Khamenia has been a crucial part of the Wolverines' brilliant performance this season. Being in his final year of high school basketball, he announced his commitment to Duke, choosing them over other top programs like UCLA, Arizona, and North Carolina.
The 6-foot-8 power forward will be joining the Blue Devils next season alongside other standout class of 2025 prospects, including the highly rated Boozer brothers, Cayden and Cameron, as well as 6-foot-5 forward Shelton Henderson.
For now, he will be focused on helping Harvard Westlake finish their already great campaign on a strong note. Hopefully, he'll be on the court when they face Sierra Canyon in their next game on Tuesday.
