The game began as a tightly contested battle, with both teams tied 11-11 at the end of the first quarter. However, Wasatch Academy's dominance became evident in the second quarter, where they outscored La Lumiere 27-10, taking a commanding 38-21 lead into halftime.
Despite a third-quarter rally by La Lumiere, which saw them outscore Wasatch 19-8, Harwell and his team remained composed. They sealed the win with a strong fourth quarter, adding 17 points to finish the game 63-54.
Key contributions came from Mariano Manciel, who scored 21 points and made five 3-pointers, and Adolf County, who added 11 points. Harwell's childhood friend, Katrelle Harmon, was also impactful, especially on defense, delivering five defensive rebounds and contributing six assists.
Wasatch Academy (UT) is currently 16-4 this season, having won their next game against Archbishop Carroll. La Lumiere, meanwhile, suffered another loss in their following game against Long Island Lutheran. They are currently on a five-game losing streak.
Isiah Harwell reunites with eighth grade teammate Katrelle Harmon at Hoophall Classic
Five-star prospect Isiah Harwell played alongside Katrelle Harmon for the Rose City Rebels in eighth grade. While Harwell moved to Wasatch Academy as a sophomore, Harmon chose to stay with the Rebels, despite encouragement from his friend and Wasatch coach Paul Peterson.
The 6-foot-5 Harmon reclassified to the 2026 class and has now teamed up with his old friend at Wasatch Academy. Speaking on his recruitment, Peterson said it was difficult to pull the four-star guard away from home:
"For all Seattle kids it's hard because they're such homebodies. But it was worth it, it was like a two or three year thing. His dad felt like it was the right time to make the jump and I think it was too."
Isiah Harwell, alongside Harmon, was a standout player at the recently concluded Hoophall Classic, helping the Tigers to a 59-58 win against highly rated IMG Academy and a 63-54 win against La Lumiere.
