One of the top prospects of the Class of 2025, Kiyan Anthony is yet to announce a decision on his collegiate career. In the meanwhile, Anthony talked about his list of best shooters in the NBA and included his father Carmelo Anthony.
Anthony appeared on an Instagram reel uploaded by the famous basketball page Overtime where he was asked about his list of top shooters:
"Steph, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, My Pops (Carmelo Anthony), Klay Thompson," said Kiyan Anthony.
In the video, Carmelo Anthony, who retired last year in May, was also seen converting a long-range shot. The 2012-13 NBA scoring champion averaged a field goal percentage of 44.7% and 35.5% from 3-point range in 1260 games in the league. He also had an effective field goal percentage of 48.5%. The 10x NBA All-Star also averaged 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in his career.
With the attention on Kiyan Anthony now, he is expected to follow in his father's footsteps. The Middle Village, New York, native has consistently displayed dominant performances on the court. He has offers from top programs including USC, Indiana, Florida State, Maryland, Ohio State, Memphis, Seton Hall, Pittsburgh and many more.
While a lot of players from his class have made their commitments, Anthony stated when he will be ready to make a decision:
"I'm trying to commit the first week of November," he told 247 Sports' Dushawn London. "At this point, I'm just looking for my finalists to apply the ultimate pressure. Each of these schools text me, but I want them to let me know where I can fit in within the school, who else is coming at my position, and what they see for me."
What are Kiyan Anthony's top 3 colleges?
According to 247Sports, Kiyan Anthony received 21 offers with the first coming from George Mason in Jul. 2022. The Long Island Lutheran player is ranked first in New York and at the eighth spot in the shooting guard position. He narrowed down his list to three programs including Syracuse, USC and Auburn.
According to On3, the Orange has the highest possibility of recruiting Anthony (84.2%). However, the program is 199 miles away from him. While talking to 247 Sports, Anthony spoke about Syracuse:
"The coaches were on me the earliest, and they've been recruiting me since day one," Kiyan said. "They really believe in me. My guy Sadiq (White) is already going there, and they're trying to get a few more players for 2025."
Florida State is second behind Syracuse with a 6.9% and USC has a 5.9% chance of recruiting the 6-foot-5 guard.
