Bryce James, son of basketball legend LeBron James, recently shared who he considered the best women's college hooper. The Overtime WBB Instagram handle posted a clip of Bryce from the Nike EYBL event on Dec. 18.

In the video, the host gave a stick to Bryce and other high school athletes present and asked them to break it when the name of their favorite women’s college basketball player comes up.

They were asked if it was Paige Bueckers, Hannah Hidalgo, or Hailey Van Lith. But Bryce and his other companions only broke their sticks when JuJu Watkins’s name was called out. According to Bryce, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Sierra Canyon, JuJu Watkins, the star point guard of USC Trojans, was the best college basketball athlete right now.

The unanimous first-team All-American (2024), Watkins is a standout freshman from USC with a record for points in a freshman debut. She was a five-star recruit and the No.1 player in the 2023 class, as per ESPN.

Back in November 2022, she announced her commitment, picking USC over Stanford and Carolina. Playing for USC, Watkins has managed an impressive average of 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

In her recent matchup against Elon on Dec. 16, Watkins dropped 26 points, helping her team to a resounding 88-30 victory. Her scoring abilities probably convinced Bryce that she is indeed the best women's college hooper right now.

How is Nike EYBL going for Bryce James?

Bryce James was all set to lock horns with high school basketball standout Kiyan Anthony in a highly anticipated clash between Sierra Canyon and Long Island Lutheran High School.

The LuHi Holiday Invitational matchup was a much-anticipated event as fans were hoping to see two of the most famous high school basketball players testing each other's skills. However, both players missed the game due to injury, which was a real heartbreak for fans.

In the absence of Bryce, Sierra Canyon’s MJ Madison and Nigel James took charge and contributed 12 points each. However, Kayden Mingo, with his 20 points, and Dylan Mingo, with his 14 points, proved too much for Sierra Canyon, and they lost the game 65-50 to Long Island Lutheran.

If Bryce manages to recover from his injury in time, he'll face Millikan this Saturday. Without a doubt, his fans will eagerly hope for his return to the court.
