With Bryce James committing to the Arizona Wildcats, the son of four-time NBA champ LeBron James is in his senior year at Sierra Canyon. The young James impressed with his performance in the 87-54 win over Chaminade on Wednesday.
His father was in the stands to support his son and took to Instagram to share a highlight from Bryce's game. theScore took to X to upload a video showing LeBron at Sierra Canyon's game:
"LeBron came out to watch his son Bryce James at Sierra Canyon tonight," the post was captioned.
The Los Angeles Lakers star also shared a highlight of his son's fastbreak dunk. During the game, Bryce James intercepted a pass and finished it down hard. The highlight was posted by Bleacher Report Hoops which was reshared by the Lakers star with a four-word reaction:
This win marked Sierra Canyon's sixth straight victory at home, leading them to a 14-3 record. The Chatsworth, CA, school boasts its winning streak by an average of 44.2 points.
Bryce received offers from Ohio State and Duquesne before he committed to Tommy Lloyd's program on Jan. 1 after visiting them on Nov. 27. While LeBron James did not play college basketball, hailing from Akron, OH, he has been a supporter of Ohio State.
In a YouTube video uploaded by GoJo and Golic on Tuesday, he talked about his son's decision:
"They recruited Bryce very hard and believed in Bryce and believed in his maturation process," James said in an episode released Monday. "He's going as far as a basketball player and as a young man.
"He made his own decision, and as parents, myself and Savannah, we just support him, you know? We're excited for his next chapter once he gets down there, and hopefully, I don't have to buy the gear." (From 8:19)
How good is Bryce James?
The 6-foot-4 guard ranks 204th nationally, 55th in the shooting guard position and 28th in California in the Class of 2025. He played in the Nike Peach Jam, representing his father's team, Strive For Greatness, and averaged 5.6 PPG, 2.4 RPG and 1.0 BPG on 31.4% shooting.
He also recorded 21 points against the eventual champions and Duke signees Cameron and Cayden Boozer's Nightrydas on May 18.
The Sierra Canyon guard marked Arizona's second commitment after Dwayne Aristode.
