Naismith Hall of Famer Charles Smith coached Peabody High School to a 50-48 victory against Springfield Central at the Spalding Hoophall Classic on Friday. In an Instagram video post shared yesterday by Hoophall, the NBA veteran and legendary high school basketball coach was seen during the game on the sideline doing what he does best: coaching the team.

The short video clip starts with a dramatic 360-degree slow-motion shot of the coach, after which he is seen on the bench, passionately shouting instructions to his players. There's also a scene where he's seen giving specific guidance to one of his players as they walk off the court, likely during a timeout.

The game in question started a little on a positive note for Peabody. They managed to outscore Springfield Central in both first-half quarters, which saw them head into the halftime break with a 13-point lead.

However, the third and fourth quarters turned out to be a fight for survival as they spent the remainder of the game struggling to maintain their lead. At the end of the third quarter, Springfield Central had reduced the deficit to just four points.

The chase continued in the fourth quarter, as they further added a two-point lead, which unfortunately wasn't enough to catch up with and overtake the Warhorses. Peabody did exactly just enough to stay afloat and win the game with two points.

6-foot-3 senior Isaiah Jones ended the game with 13 points, nine rebounds and two assists. He, alongside Telek Love, who delivered 12 points and nine rebounds, played a crucial role in the hard-fought victory. Freshman Power forward Bryant Durant also contributed points and fourteen rebounds.
