Monterrey Lady Plainsmen star point guard Aaliyah Chavez, the No. 1 ranked prospect from the Class of 2025, has built herself a growing fanbase. After one of her games, a young fan approached her and asked for her autograph. However, that fan wanted it in a peculiar spot; her forehead, which the five-star signed anyway.
As the video showed, Aaliyah Chavez signed right above the young fan's left eyebrow, and she looked very happy as her forehead was being signed. Chavez can be seen smiling in a brief moment.
A woman who claimed to be the young fan's grandmother commented in the post that her granddaughter did not wash her forehead at all, with the autograph staying on her forehead for a few days until it naturally faded out.
"That’s my granddaughter! She didn’t wash it off, it just faded off after a couple of days! She is truly her hero!" said a commenter who claimed to be the young Aaliyah Chavez fan's grandmother.
Chavez may be the No. 1 prospect in her class, but she has not yet committed to any college. She has already chosen her final six, though LSU has taken itself out of contention for her commitment. The five remaining schools are South Carolina, Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and UCLA.
Aaliyah Chavez scores almost 100 points in back-to-back games
Aaliyah Chavez and the Monterey Lady Plainsmen participated at the Caprock Classic in Texas last week, kicking it off with an 89-53 win over Pampa in the opening round on Dec. 26. She scored 53 points during that game, including sinking three from beyond the arc.
During the next round, she had another monster game, scoring over half of her team's in a dominating 77-29 win over El Paso Eastwood. She had 44 points in that 48-point win, which means that in just two games, she almost scored 100 points.
The Lady Plainsmen went on to beat Americas later on Dec. 27's semifinal, 89-31. However, the team had to bow out in the final to Frenship on Dec. 28, 60-70.
The Monterey point guard is averaging 35.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.9 steals per game and she has already passed the 4,000-point mark in her high school career.
