While there is still some time for A.J. Dybantsa to make a decision on his college, the No. 1 prospect was seen dominating for the Utah Prep High School. Dybantsa has a 98 scout grade according to ESPN, and has been given a five-star rating by On3, ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals.
In his school's 72-67 victory over Notre Dame, Dybantsa scored 19 points. Furthermore, the 6'9" forward was seen finishing through tough contact, grabbing offensive rebounds for the putback, and scoring daggers from beyond the arc in the highlights posted by Ballislife:
The 2022-23 Gatorade Massachusetts Boys Basketball Player of the Year received offers from countless programs across the nation. However, A.J. Dybantsa has visited Brigham, Baylor, Alabama, North Carolina, Kansas, Kansas State, Auburn and USC, according to 247Sports.
For his previous school St. Sebastian, Dybantsa averaged 19.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 blocks per match. Furthermore, he also represented Team USA at the FIBA U17 World Cup, averaging 14.1 points, 4.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds with a 58.7% field goal.
Dybantsa has shown why he is the No. 1 prospect before heading into college. In an interview with On3, he discussed his long-term plans, stating that he wants to be in the Hall of Fame:
“I want to be a Hall of Famer. (To do that, I’ve got to) just keep doing what I’m doing, but at a better rate every time. Every year I’ve got to improve from the last.”
While talking about his future, Dybantsa also stated that he wants the younger generation to model the game around his:
“I want to be a good influence for kids,” he said. “It’ll be fun seeing the next generation of long, athletic wings trying to model their games after me.”

A.J. Dybantsa has a tough choice ahead of him as he has left many basketball fans wondering. This year, Dybantsa received 10 offers, from Illinois, Kansas, Florida, Duke, Houston, Rutgers, Brigham, Arkansas, Kansas State and SMU.
During a conversation with The Athletic's Brendan Marks, Dybantsa's father Ace Dybantsa revealed that his son will honor Black History Month and reveal his decision next year in February.
According to On3, the BYU Cougars have the highest chance of recruiting the Brockton, Massachusetts native at 20.3%. They are followed by North Carolina with 13.4%, Auburn with 11.5% and Alabama with 9.6%.
