A.J. Dybantsa is the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025. Furthermore, Dybantsa has been given five stars by On3, ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports. While he decides on his collegiate career, he is putting up some excellent displays on the court.
The Brockton, Massachusetts native showed once again why he is the No. 1 recruit in the nation. While representing his high school, Utah Prep, Dybantsa put up a show against No. 5 recruit Jason Crowe Jr. and Inglewood. The famous basketball page br_hoops posted some highlights of the forward:
"No. 1 player in the country, AJ Dybantsa just took on No. 5 player in the country Jason Crowe Jr in a huge matchup🔥 Utah Prep came out on top over Inglewood 92-82," the post was captioned.
The highlights showed A.J. Dybantsa running down the paint and finishing it down hard. He seemed too fast for the players as he finished through contact.
Dybantsa also did a little showboating, dunking a ball from an alley-oop from out of bounds and bouncing the ball off the court to convert a self-alley-oop to help his team win 92-82.
On the other hand, No. 5 prospect Jason Crowe Jr. also displayed a solid performance. Crowe Jr. was too quick for the defenders as he was able to convert off the bounce from beyond the arc. He was also able to play below the rim and finish above the defender.
A.J. Dybantsa displayed a similar performance against Notre Dame
Dybantsa helped Utah Prep in a similar manner in their last match against Notre Dame. The 6'9" forward scored some threes as well as dominated in the paint, finishing through contact and rising up to grab the offensive rebound for the putback.
Dybantsa scored 19 points in that game to lead Utah Prep to a 72-67 victory. For his previous school, St. Sebastian, he averaged 19.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 blocks per game.
For Team USA at the FIBA U17 World Cup, the 2022-23 Gatorade Massachusetts Boys Basketball Player of the Year averaged 14.1 points, 4.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds with a 58.7% field goal.
Regarding A.J. Dybantsa's college choice, the On3 prediction machine states that the BYU Cougars have the highest chance of recruiting the No. 1 prospect with a 41.7% prediction. Kansas State follows this with a 25% chance, Alabama with a 13.3% chance.
