The Nike EYBL circuit has been buzzing with the dynamic performances of top basketball recruits AJ Dybantsa and Tyran Stokes, who have teamed up on the Oakland Soldiers AAU squad.
Dybantsa, currently the No. 1 player in the 2025 ESPN 100, has been a standout, averaging 26.3 points per game during the first EYBL session. Meanwhile, Stokes, a top recruit for the class of 2026, has been a powerhouse on the boards, averaging 9.3 rebounds per game.
In a viral video on Instagram shared by Overtime, Dybantsa and Stokes were involved in a light-hearted challenge of guessing people through some hints. They included NBA draft picks, including Bronny James, the son of Lakers superstar LeBron James.
Stokes playfully referred to Bronny as "a munch," a term popularized by rapper Ice Spice, hinting at Bronny's potential and growing reputation in the basketball community. They also mentioned streamers like "Kassanet" and Kai Cenat.
Stokes and Dybantsa also discussed prominent organizations in youth basketball development, such as the Georgia Stars and Overtime Elite (OTE).
Dybantsa, a 6-9 small forward who hails from Brockton, Massachusetts, has agreed to play his last year at Utah Prep, located in Hurricane, Utah. His top-notch show in the FIBA U17 World Cup, the American representation, has made his name even bigger in the US as the best high school player and a top choice in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Tyran Stokes shines in recruitment and AAU play
Tyran Stokes, On3’s No. 2 overall player in the 2026 class, is making headlines with his recent performances and recruitment updates. The 6-foot-7 forward secured his second gold medal with USA Basketball at the U17 World Cup.
Stokes has also announced his transfer to Los Angeles (CA) Notre Dame High for his junior season.
“I’m dominant,” Stokes said via On3. “My IQ is improving, especially in reading the floor both offensively and defensively.”
On3 recently spoke with Stokes at Nike’s Peach Jam about his recruitment.
“Kansas, USC, UCLA, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Louisville are the schools I’m hearing from the most,” he said.
When asked about reclassification, Stokes answered:
“We’ve had some discussions, but it’s not a priority right now. My mom and I are focused on the next steps forward.”
Tyran Stokes also mentioned his playful conversations with Beezy (Brandon McCoy) about potentially teaming up again.
“We talk about what could happen if we played together. It was great to be on the same court with him for Team USA,” Stokes said.
In the first EYBL session, Tyran Stokes averaged 9.3 rebounds per game alongside top recruit AJ Dybantsa. In a game, he posted 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists, shooting 12-17 from the field and 4-4 from three.
