Northwestern signee Jake West, a four-star point guard, put up 19 points, eight assists and six rebounds despite William Penn Charter School's 71-68 loss to Patrick School at the Jordan Holliday Classic.
In Ballislife's Instagram post on Saturday, West's performance was highlighted, generating some buzz. The post, which included a picture and a video, features the player dashing through the defense, combining beautifully with his teammates and sinking buckets.
The game was a back-and-forth battle. Both teams had 16 points each going into the second quarter, with Patrick School leading 32-31 at halftime. The teams were tied 68-68 in the final seconds of the game. It took a 3-point buzzer-beater from 5-foot-10 Celtics point guard Jaysean Williams to decide the game.
What's next for Jake West?
Jake West, a Class of 2025 recruit, signed with Northwestern in November. His decision came amid 12 other college offers, including West Virginia, Mississippi State and Penn. He will join power forward Tre Singleton, 6-foot-9 Cade Bennerman, 6-7 Tyler Kropp and three-star shooting guard Phoenix Gill with the Wildcats next season.
For now, Jake is focused on leading the Quakers to a successful season. They already bounced back from the loss, beating Greensboro 52-46 in their next game.
