"What you tryna do": 4-star recruit sends cryptic message to Julian Lewis, signaling potential commitment to Deion Sanders' Colorado

Julian Lewis, a four-star quarterback, signed with the Colorado Buffaloes in December. One of the Buffaloes' best signings in the Class of 2025, he has already assumed the role of a recruiter for Deion Sanders' team.

Lewis is engaging his Carrollton (Georgia) High School teammate, Zykie Helton, to come to Colorado. Helton, a 2026 four-star prospect, named Alabama, Georgia and Colorado as his top three schools, and thanks to his star teammate, the Buffs have a genuine chance of landing the talented offensive lineman.

On3 Recruits shared the post of Helton's shortlist on its Twitter account, and Helton shared the tweet on his Instagram story and had a cheeky caption to go along with it.

Lewis responded to the story by adding two smiley emojis.

Colorado seems to be on the right track in recruiting Helton, and acquiring him will go a long way toward solidifying the Buffs' future roster.

Zykie Helton is ranked No. 328 in the country and is the 30th-best offensive lineman in the Class of 2026, according to On3. He is also the 38th-best overall recruit from the state of Georgia.

Julian Lewis gives his verdict on the future of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders

Colorado Buffaloes starting quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to enter the NFL draft this year. The talented quarterback had a fantastic year, and many pro teams could benefit from Sanders as their quarterback.

However, according to future Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis, the New York Giants, who hold the No. 3 pick in the draft, will be an ideal destination for Sanders.

"I'm just spectating future NY Giants QB," Lewis said, according to On3, ahead of the Buffs' Alamo Bowl matchup against BYU last month.

The Giants endured a tough season with Daniel Jones as their quarterback. A selection of Sanders makes a lot of sense as it gives him a chance to start immediately for the Giants.

Shedeur racked up 3,926 yards on a 74.2% completion rate and threw 35 touchdowns and eight interceptions this season while leading the Buffs to a 9-4 record.

Julian Lewis is expected to take over from Sanders next season and hopes to be just as productive as his predecessor. Lewis announced his commitment to the Buffs in November and signed with them on Dec. 4.
