It looks like AJ Dybantsa can't wait to start playing for the BYU Cougars. The No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2025 was sitting in the arena for the Cougars vs. Bulldogs game alongside his father Ace Dybantsa. The BYU Men's Basketball Instagram page posted some of the moments as they mic'd up the small forward.

Dybantsa was seen cheering the team, singing their song and supporting his new teammates:

"When do we start doing chants?" Dybantsa asked supporters next to him.

AJ Dybantsa also talked about filling out the arena next season after chanting for the Cougars and seeing his team hit a three:

"We're gonna have this sold out every game next year. I'm gonna have me some shooters next year."

Dybantsa committed to the Cougars on Dec. 10, after turning down offers from other colleges in his top four, namely Alabama, North Carolina and Kansas. This season, Dybantsa is averaging 19.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game at Utah Prep which has a 7-4 record.

Last season, he averaged 19.1 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 2.9 apg and 2.5 bpg with his previous school St. Sebastian. In an interview with Sports Center NEXT, Dybantsa talked about the sacrifices his father and sisters made when they moved to Utah:

"My older sister Samar, my younger sister Jasine, and my dad like you know just making countless sacrifices like moving to Utah, leaving my sisters at home so I mean, it's just for the bigger picture though but I mean I'm just ready you know to announce and on that being said I'll be coming into Brigham Young University," said Dybantsa.

AJ was also a part of the team that won gold medals at the FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in Mexico and the FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey. In Mexico, AJ Dybantsa posted averages of 13.7 ppg, 3.8 apg and 3.7 rpg. In Turkey, he had 14.1 points, 4.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds per contest on 58.7% shooting from the field.

AJ Dybantsa on head coach Kevin Young

While talking to On3, Dybantsa highlighted BYU's All-NBA staff as a key factor in his decision, adding that coach Kevin Young's influence would help him reach the next level.

“Kevin Young was an NBA coach, so he is telling me that he will bring a lot of NBA styles and concepts to the program. He told me that he thought he would be a good coach to help me get to that next level," he said.
“It’s good that he has NBA experience. I mean, I’m trying to get to the NBA, so anyone that has NBA experience or anyone that has brought people to the NBA or coached in the NBA is going to have knowledge for that."

With AJ Dybantsa's commitment, the Cougars have now added three standout recruits, including Xavion Staton and Chamberlain Burgess.
