Darryn Peterson is quickly making a name for himself as the No. 1-ranked shooting guard prospect in the Class of 2025. The Ohio native committed to the Kansas Jayhawks on Nov. 1, choosing Bill Self's program over offers from powerhouse schools like Kentucky, Ohio State and USC.

Peterson started his high school journey at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy before transferring to Huntington Prep in West Virginia last year. On Aug. 12, 2024, he announced his transfer to Prolific Prep in Napa, California.

His debut with Prolific Prep showed his scoring and defensive prowess, recording 38 points, seven steals and six assists against Fort Erie Academy. Notably, Peterson was the first high school athlete to sign a NIL deal with Adidas, further boosting his profile.

Peterson’s early performances at Prolific Prep have been nothing short of spectacular. His stats against Fort Erie showed his ability to dominate both ends of the floor and his readiness for the college level.
