As part of his whirlwind summer, four-star recruit Kiyan Anthony, son of former NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony, participated in the Nike EYBL Peach Jam in Augusta, Georgia.

One of the teams they went up against was Team Durant, and things got heated, as seen in the latest edition of his "Evolu7ion" blog on the Overtime YouTube channel.

The Long Island Lutheran shooting guard commented that this was an important match for them, as Team Durant was their big rival back at the Baltimore DMV.

"Yeah, this game don't got nothing to do wth EYBL. This game back home like Baltimore DMV," said Kiyan. "Whoever wins, this the whole DMV is going to be talking about it." (6:27-6:51)

It was a hotly-contested game that forced overtime. In the end, Team Melo triumphed over their DMV rivals, 73-66.

Kiyan exploded for 15 points and three assists, but things got testy with one of Team Durant's players, as Carmelo Anthony himself tried to smooth things out.

"Our fourth quarter was definitely a dog," said Kiyan Anthony in the blog. "Nobody knew who was going to win. They ended up coming back and tiny game, and then it went to overtime, 63-63." (8:44-9:43)

Kiyan Anthony and the rest of Team Melo were feeling very good after such a hard-fought victory. The four-star shooting guard said that winning the game felt like they won the Peach Jam already.

He added that while he is not from Baltimore, he understands how important this rivalry is and what it means to everybody back in DMV.

Despite having a very busy summer, which included trips to the Paris Olympics and the FIBA U-17 World Cup in Turkey, Kiyan Anthony also had his hands full with the Peach Jam. Even though he and his AAU team, Team Melo, failed to win the championship, Kiyan still put up some very solid numbers.

The No. 35 ranked player overall for the Class of 2025 had an average of 21.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. His best performance of the tournament came against Mac Irvin Fire, where he scored 40 points.

Kiyan is now readying for his upcoming senior year with Long Island Lutheran, with him about to decide on which school he will be going to. His final three are Syracuse, USC and Auburn.
