"Why is aj not on here?": Hoops fans react to the Hoophall Classic All-Showcase team ft. Cameron Boozer and Nate Ament 

The 2025 Spalding Hoophall Classic has concluded, with some of the top high school basketball teams and players leaving it all out on the court in front of a national audience. On Wednesday, the Instagram page of Hoophall Classic released the 2025 All Showcase team for boys and girls.

However, some fans were not happy with the exclusion of AJ Dybantsa after the Utah Prep star failed to beat Montverde and questioned the boys' all-showcase team in the comments section.

"why is aj not there?" a fan asked.

"it's actually a joke with dybantsa not being in the team. Yes, Utah lost but dybantsa still put up 25 points. Unless and until the the theory behind this team is that aj dybantsa is someome who doesn't compare to rest of the ballers in his class, I don't think he should be excluded from this team. Dybantsa walks into any team currently," another fan wrote.

"@aj.dybantsa ?????" a fan commented.

"Bryce?" one fan wrote.

Many were also not happy that Manu Manciel was not on the team.

"No way @lilmanciel not on this list. 28 points and a dub against IMG Next game 21 and a dub. Pretty sure the kid only missed max 7 shots the entire weekend," a fan commented.

"It’s no way @lilmanciel doesn’t get a spot man…. Literally had the best showing out of EVERYONE," another fan wrote.

Who made it to the Hoophall Classic all-showcase team?

The Hoophall Classic all-showcase girls' team featured Ontario Christian's Kaleena Smith, Incarnate Word Academy's Nevaeh Caffey, Morris Catholics' Mia Pauldo, Etiwanda HS' Aliyahna Morris and Christ the King HS' Olivia Vukosa.

The boys' team included Long Island Lutheran's Kiyan Anthony, Highland School's Nate Ament, Christopher Columbus' Cameron Boozer, St. Joseph's Tounde Yessoufou and Prolific Prep's Darryn Peterson.

While Dybantsa did not make the all-showcase team, the No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class and BYU signee put up a stellar fight against the defending national champions Montverde Academy, scoring 25 points on 42.1% shooting and converted 6 of 7 free throws, along with three rounds and three steals.

Dybantsa will be joined by Utah Prep teammate Xavion Staton and Chamberlain Burgess at BYU next season.
