Former NFL quarterback and Miami Northwestern Senior High School coach Teddy Bridgewater criticized the Miami-Dade County Public School System. Amid the early signing period, he posted on Facebook his disagreement with the Dade County Public Schools' media content and distribution policy.

“It sucks that whoever runs the media/content distribution for Dade-County Public isn't allowing kids to film a once in a lifetime experience like signing day or even gather Gameday content," he wrote. "Thank God for my platform and bigger than Dade-County Schools networks like ESPN, The NFL, Maxpreps and 305sports who continue to post the greatness that happens at MNW and around Miami.
"Yall pathetic as adults and need to move out the way so these kids can truly prosper. I'm new to this and idk who in control for real but they can't be in favor of the kids.”

Bridgewater, who took the coaching role at Northwestern after retiring from the NFL in February, had an impressive debut season. The Bulls are 11-2 this season and will play in the Class 3A championship game after defeating Eau Gallie 40-0 on Friday. The game is scheduled for December 14 at Pitbull Stadium in Miami.

The program was alleged of playing a fifth year, putting it at risk of sanctions by the FHSAA. However, after investigating, the FHSAA has cleared the program.

Teddy Bridgewater's discontent with Florida High School football and possible return to the NFL

Teddy Bridgewater's recent outburst on Facebook is not his first. The former NFL veteran has been an outspoken critic of the stakeholders in the Florida high school football scene including coaches and regulators.

He has also hinted at a potential return to the NFL in a coaching role. He posted on his X account on Nov. 19 that he can't wait to return to the NFL. He wrote:

“So many QB jobs available for me after we make this state title run. I can’t wait to return back to the NFL.”

Bridgewater played in the NFL for 10 seasons from 2014 to 2024 before retiring to take up high school coaching.
