Auburn's 2025 Class looks one of the best in the nation, with multiple blue-chip prospects along with newly committed quarterback Deuce Knight. Four-star cornerback Donovan Starr is one of the members of this star-studded cycle who has been committed to Auburn since June 6.

However, Starr has remained in contact with several college programs. He visited Illinois last month, despite his commitment to Auburn. According to Joseph Hastings of BamaOnline, he will make an official visit to Michigan on Oct. 26 for the Michigan State game and also plans to take a trip to Alabama.

Auburn's other committed players, like four-star running back Alvin Henderson, are eager to see Starr remain committed to the Tigers. Henderson took to social media, posting a reminder to Starr, writing:

"You locked in with Auburn bro."

Henderson, along with Auburn's other committed players like five-star edge rusher Jared Smith, worked to flip Knight from Notre Dame to the Tigers' 2025 class, which now ranks No. 3 in the Southeastern Conference.

The effort turned out to be successful, but keeping Starr locked in Auburn will be another major task for them.

Starr's recruitment has been heavily influenced by Auburn cornerback coach Wesley McGriff and defensive coordinator DJ Durkin. When he gave his pledge to the Tigers, he had high praise for the school, saying (via On3):

“The people, nobody seems like they’re putting a face on or pretending. It seems everyone here is genuine. They love football. They love me as a person. It just seems like a great area to be and I could definitely see myself here.”

Auburn has 26 committed players in the 2025 Class and Donovan Starr is the third cornerback in the 2025 class alongside Devin Williams and Dante Core.

Donovan Starr opens up about his recruitment update

Donovan Starr holds offers from Michigan, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Missouri and Tennessee, among others. He added the Alabama offer last week.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently gives Auburn an 88.4% chance of retaining Starr's commitment, but he’s keeping his options open as early signing day approaches.

“I’m pretty locked in (to Auburn) right now, but I’m definitely still open to a few schools,” Starr said (via Tennessean). “I got a few more visits to take and then probably make my final decision in December.”

On3 Industry Rankings ranks Donovan Starr as the No. 334 prospect in the nation, the No. 34 cornerback in the 2025 Class, and the No. 11 recruit from Tennessee. He also has a verified 10.56 seconds in the 100 meters and a 22.06-second time in the 200 meters.
