"He just guides me. He doesn't tell me to make any decision, he just guides me. He sets me on a path," RJ said, as per Eleven Warriors' YouTube channel. "He always tells me it's my journey so you got to figure it out... and you can't use me as a crutch, so you got to figure it out on your own."

Day led his team to a record of 9-3 this season. He was selected to the Second-Team All-District team and also earned himself a First-Team All-Central Catholic League honor due to his extraordinary performance this year.

"I grew up with him," RJ Day said when asked about his relationship with Kelly. "He was my dad's coach in college like we grew up around him... He's like my uncle Chip, but yeah he's taught me wonders. He's taught me a lot about the X's and O's of the passing game... He's also taught me about the mental aspects too."

Kelly became the Buckeyes' offensive coordinator this year. Ryan Day served under Kelly during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers.
