Four-star cornerback Brody Jennings has been committed to Michigan's 2026 class since July. The cycle was hit with a blow when four-star quarterback Brady Hart backed off his pledge, but Jennings remains active in recruiting talent for the Wolverines, and one of his top targets is three-star cornerback Jaziel Hart.
"You want to be great? Come to Michigan. That’s what I’ve been telling him," Jennings told On3 about his recruitment pitch for Hart.
Hart attends North Cross School in Roanoke, Virginia. He is the No. 53 cornerback in the 2026 class, the No. 11 recruit in Virginia and the No. 769 prospect in the nation, according to On3.
Hart can be a big-time addition to Michigan's 2026 class, which has wide receiver Jaylen Pile committed besides Jennings. The Wolverines are also making pushes for multiple blue-chip prospects in this cycle, including four-star quarterback Oscar Rios.
Meanwhile, Michigan's 2025 class is heavily trending for five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood, who decommitted from Alabama this month. The Wolverines already have five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola locked in the cycle, alongside the nation's No. 1 prospect, Bryce Underwood.
Jaziel Hart includes Michigan in his top 6 schools
Michigan defensive backs coach Lamar Morgan is recruiting Jaziel Hart, who included the Wolverines in his top six schools. Alongside Sherrone Moore's program, his list features Indiana, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Penn State and Virginia.
Hart attended Michigan's 27-24 victory over USC on Sept. 21 and left impressed by the Wolverines' defensive performance.
"Michigan played hard, smash-mouth football when they played USC," Hart said. "They struggled on offense to move the ball consistently, but them defensive backs and the defense (as a whole) took care of business."
Michigan's season ended with an 8-5 record, but the inclusion of multiple blue-chip prospects in the 2025 and 2026 classes signals a bright future for the Wolverines.
As of now, Michigan holds a 9.4% chance of landing Jaziel Hart’s commitment, according to On3. Virginia Tech leads the race with a 29.4% chance, as many recruiting insiders predict he will stay close to home. Still, recruiting is unpredictable, and Michigan could surprise with a late push to secure his commitment.
